Visionary artist, Patricia Darbee Fisher has been creating collages and paintings using mixed media for over twenty years.She layers artist's papers and permanent pigments together creating works rich in texture, color and imagination.
The divine creative energy found in nature is a central theme in her work. Her images are multi-referential, drawing from the symbolic and natural worlds. The imagery in her work is varied. It includes a wide range of subjects from the human figure, the landscape and marine life to Hawaiian petroglyphs and Balinese icons.
Her pictures reveal what cannot be articulated with words; they are definitions of mystery. Descriptions of her artwork serve as keys on the key ring her viewers possess. Although she has a story behind each art work, she invites her audience to bring their stories and their intuitive understanding to her work.
"We are part of nature, although many of us are disconnected from the natural world", says the Patricia, "Within us and within nature, is a divine intelligence which is called by many name; this intelligence is as"higher self", God, light, transforming power and grace. My goal as an artist is to recreate the universal healing power we can find within our selves as well as through our connection to and cooperation with Mother Nature.
Patricia's work is found in private collections in the United States, Europe, and Japan. She continuously exhibits with the Artists of Maui Collection at the Lahaina Cannery Mall, accepts commissions and does special exhibitions on the mainland.
